← return to D1SCOURSE

Linebacker Jarvis Cummings, offensive lineman Dale Howard and fullback Mike Patrick have all left the Navy football program.

None of the three were included in an updated roster released Friday. A team spokesman acknowledged they were no longer with the team.

Cummings, who switched from quarterback to linebacker in the spring, appeared in two games as a sophomore and had eight carries for 29 yards and a touchdown. He impressed coaches after switching to defense, was listed as a backup at outside linebacker after the spring. Sophomore Chris Johnson is now listed as Josh Tate’s backup.

Howard, a rising sophomore, was set to begin camp as Bradyn Heap’s backup at center. Senior Kahikolu Pescaia now takes that spot.

Patrick had more career carries than the rest if Navy’s returning fullbacks combined. He had 15 carries for 96 yards ls a sophomore, but finished the spring third on the depth chart behind Noah Copeland and Prentice Christian. He also had seven carries for 52 yards in Navy’s spring game in April.
